WIRES TRAINING WEEKEND
WIRES TRAINING WEEKEND
Chris Lloyd WIRES Training Officer

WIRES (Wildlife Information and Rescue Service) a NSW organisation, has completed a most successful weekend training workshop at the Aquatic Environment Education Centre at Wonga Wetlands. There were 41 participants who were introduced to the work of WIRES and undertook initial training in such matters as native animal handling, care, injury assessment and rehabilitation. WIRES trainers from as far away as Coffs Harbour supplemented the expertise of local WIRES carers and their insight and enthusiasm were a great help to the new recruits.

WIRES members are active volunteers in our community. WIRES carers take in orphaned and injured native animals and rehabilitate them before returning them to the wild.

Congratulations !!!

Any orphaned and injured native animals should be kept very quiet and calm, as stress is a big problem for our wildlife. They should be taken to a WIRES carer or your nearest vet as soon as possible.

For the rescue of native animals phone WIRES 0427 493 716.
