The 30+ attendees represented many government and semi-government agencies all involved in wetlands in the Border Region. It was a great opportunity to hear who does what and where and to better understand how cooperation and communication are most important in all our works and projects.

Presentations were made with respect to the planning, management, education, research and on-ground works that are either centred on the Border or relevant to this region. Speakers from TAFE, the Murray Darling Freshwater Research Centre. NSW Fisheries, the Victorian Department of Sustainability and the Environment and the City of Wodonga outlined their activities and the morning tea, afternoon tea and lunchtime "networking" sessions allowed a free interchange of ideas.
