We want people to have the opportunity to experience visits from the Japanese Snipe, see the unique 100 year old callistemon, watch ducklings and egrets struggling to keep up with their parents, witness the majesty of sea eagles so far inland, and learn about the local Aboriginal tribes and their connection with the river environment.
The Wonga Wetlands project will preserve this opportunity - now and for future generations. The development of The Aquatic Environment Education Centre, the Visitors’ Centre, the Walking Trails and Birdhides and the Wiradjuri Cultural and Education Centre, picnic tables and toilets are testament to this.
Valuable sponsorships for the Wonga Wetlands project have been made, and in recognition of the importance of the Aquatic Environment Education Centre,
Some of the organisations that have been involved in the sponsorship of the development of The Aquatic Environment Education Centre at Wonga Wetlands can be seen displayed on our “Sponsorship Posts” and are shown in the image below.
Sponsorship can be acknowledged as a presence or link on councils website to onsite acknowledgment by way of appropriate plaques and signage.
The partnership between sponsors and AlburyCity will be seen nationally and internationally as contributing to ecological awareness and sustainability. It will give sponsors long term local, regional and national exposure in responsible co-ordinated environmental management
