FINAL Y 11 BIOLOGY FIELD TRIP FOR 2007
FINAL Y 11 BIOLOGY FIELD TRIP FOR 2007
It's not ALL hard work!

The field work involves the investigation of an area of River Red Gums and associated vegetation adjacent to Bagnall's Range Lagoon to better understand the relationships between the biotic and abiotic factors in this ecosystem.

W.S.S.C. this year also incorporated a “snapshot” of the macroinvertebrates in Bagnall's Range Lagoon to help ascertain the quality of the water. The skills learned in this exercise will be put into practice when the same students become involved in Waterwatch activities in the Les Stone Park wetland in Wodonga.

An added feature to Monday’s activities was the arrival of a Giant Pobblebonk frog. One of our neighbours from Splitters Creek had him/her delivered in a load of brickies sand and wanted to know if he/she (the frog!) was a species found locally and could he/she be safely released in the area. The frog was happy to pose for photos before being put back into more natural conditions.
