Crimson-Spotted Rainbow Fish

Australia has many species of Rainbow fish, but the Crimson-spotted Rainbow is found only in the Murray-Darling Basin. Growing 6-8cm in length, they prefer still or slow-flowing areas, and feed mainly on small invertebrates.

Little is known about their breeding habits, but it seems from aquarium observations that spawning occurs in early summer, and few eggs are deposited.
