The Blue Tongue Lizard is found right across northern and eastern Australia, in a variety of habitats. Adults grow to about 45cm in length, and have a distinctive 'blue' tongue.

They are active during the day and feed on almost anything, including fruits, berries, flowers, insects, snails and dead animals.

Females give birth to live young, with litters of up to 25.
