The Wonga Wetlands Visitors' Centre
|
|
This year Wonga's Annual Open Day has the added significance of the Mayor, Arthur Fraunfelder, "cutting the ribbon" of the Visitors' Centre.
The Visitors' Centre has been developed from the ruins of the Old Farmhouse over the past year with a great deal of effort from Council Staff, contractors and especially the Wonga Wetlands personnel. Visitors will see displays of Wiradjuri Culture, Flora and Fauna of Wonga Wetlands and Historical Artifacts from the site. The new Wonga Wetlands promotional CD will be "launched" by Darly McGregor.
Visitors will be able to see the new information posts along the marked walking trails and how the Wiradjuri development is progressing.
The timetable is as follows:
The Open Day is to allow visitors the opportunity to get to know the Wetlands better by joining in guided tours along the developed trails with new interpretative signage, participating in a presentation on the origins and development of Wonga Wetlands and the Aquatic Environment Education Centre and attending the official opening of the Visitors’ Centre by the mayor.
