This was a great opportunity for a group of students from Albury North Public School, to show the Totally Wild team their Schools’ Environment Project and to chat about the things that go on at Wonga Wetlands.

There was much weeding and replanting of native species all of which was captured on film and Mike Copland discussed the way the wetlands “works” and the species of birds that are found here. The Totally Wild Team toured the Wetlands capturing some great shots of the bird and plant life, but also some of the huge carp and the damage that they are causing in the billabongs.

Here John Hawkins and Natalie from Totally Wild practise their fly fishing and land a large European Carp. Fishing and netting this billabong might be the only way to reduce the numbers of these environmentally damaging fish.
