Having been involved in the setup of The Aquatic Environment Education Centre at Wonga Wetlands from day one, and overseeing the evolution of its educational programme, I feel that it is time to hang up the waders and binoculars.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Centre and wish to thank all those from AlburyCity who made the appointment possible in the first place and who have fully supported me over the past seven years. John Hawkins, the Wetlands Supervisor, deserves special praise for his assistance, ideas and hard work and I wish him all the best in the future.
However before The Aquatic Environment Education Centre at Wonga Wetlands, was my position at the Murray - Darling Freshwater Research Centre. It was the staff from here, and a “taskforce” from schools, universities, the community and the MDFRC itself that helped AlburyCity in the initial planning of The Aquatic Environment Education Centre. Thank you very much to this group for your confidence in my getting things going successfully.
It is the schools, universities, community groups, etc, that have made The Aquatic Environment Education Centre at Wonga Wetlands as well-known and appreciated as it now is, so thanks to all the teachers, lecturers, group organisers and kids for your support, encouragement and enthusiasm over the past years.
