NSW GOVERNOR PAYS WONGA A VISIT
Her Excellency, Sir Nicholas and Col Johnson in the Visitors' Centre
 


It was with great pleasure that Wonga Wetlands welcomed the Governor of NSW, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir and her husband Sir Nicholas Shehadie, for a brief visit yesterday.

The Koorie Kindermanna Kids (and adults) meet Her Excellency
The group visited the Wonga Wetlands Visitors’ Centre, The Wiradjuri Cultural and Education Centre and The Aquatic Environment Education Centre where they were introduced to the reasons for the Wetlands developments, saw a display of some of the ecological, indigenous and historical artefacts collected at Wonga Wetlands and joined in some work and art projects with students from Koorie Kindermanna and Lavington East Public School.

The visit gave Her Excellency and Sir Nicholas a chance to relax and meet with the staff of Wonga Wetlands and AlburyCity over afternoon tea and to join in with the students and teachers as they went about their work at Wonga.
