CHANGES FOR 2008
The Parting Gift !

Mike Copland who was the Education Officer at The Aquatic Environment Education Centre at Wonga Wetlands has retired and passed the “baton” on to John Hawkins who had been the Wonga Wetlands Supervisor since its inception.

Mike will continue to assist John and Simon Williams,(who presents the “aboriginal” experience at Wonga Wetlands) when there are large groups of students booked in for lessons and will be available for HSC and VCE biology, chemistry and geography groups.

John has added a number of features to the Wonga Wetlands offerings including “Nights” when the public is invited to have a BBQ tea followed by a presentation and an observational walk. So far there have been presentations by experts in the field of bats, turtles and frogs. Each of these has been very well attended and clearly shows the community’s interest in their local environment.

For details on future “Nights” you can contact John on 0260513803 or 0418267805 or email him jhawkins@alburycity.nsw.gov.au
